FAQ

What is included in the rental fee?
Our costume's structure and functionality meet the quality of a professional company dancer's needs and are given the same attention to detail in each unique design. Each costume comes with a matching, hand-crafted headpiece featuring stunning crystals and/or florals that is easy to mold to the individual's head and pin securely in place. We use the provided measurements to tailor the costume to fit and flatter the dancer and offer continuous support throughout the season. If you are local to the St. Louis area, we are able to do in person fittings including additional appointments if needed.
How do I care for my rental?
-
Place costume in the provided garment bag while not in use and avoid leaving in direct sun/hot vehicles for extended periods
-
You are welcome to rehearse in costume, just allow the garment to air out afterwards. We recommend spraying the inside with vodka or Microban to keep it smelling fresh.
-
Do not apply hairspray or make up while in costume including headpieces.
-
Avoid eating/drinking anything other than plain water in costume
-
If any staining occurs please tend to it asap. Rinse with cool water and apply Shout stain treatment as needed.
-
Do not perform alterations aside from emergency repair (i.e. reattachment of hook/eyes) without express permission.
We understand accidents happen! Just please let us know of any incidents as soon as they occur and we will provide instructions.
Are there costumes available for purchase?
If you wish to purchase/keep a costume, please keep in mind we will need to charge for the full value of the costume. Depending on the requested style/design prices would start around $1,000 and go up. If you are looking to purchase just a headpiece, prices start around $50. Please disclose any desire to purchase during initial communications as any sale will be of a newly commissioned piece.
How long is the rental period?
We offer a generous rental period to allow for multiple dress rehearsals, performances, photo shoots, etc. When filling out the rental contract you will be asked to list the first and last date the costume will be needed. The latest date we will need the costume back will be 2 weeks after the last date used. For competition use, you are welcome to rent the same costume multiple years in a row (for a 10% discount!), we just ask that the costume is returned to us during the summer for cleaning/maintenance.
Do you do rush orders?
Time gets the best of all of us. If there is less than a month before the costume is needed, we may be able to still accommodate your needs. However, keep in mind we start receiving contracts for the new competition season in July so our stock may be limited. Check out our inventory as the listings will be updated as they are reserved. If a new costume needs to be made, we will need as much notice as possible and any new requests needed in less than 6 weeks will incur a rush fee.
What if I want to rent a costume that is not in stock?
If there is a costume you would like that we do not have or is already rented out, we are always looking to add to our collection. Please try to send new costume requests as soon as possible to allow time for material shipping and construction. We like to create unique designs for each new piece!
How do I pick up and return my costume?
Local clients (St. Louis) will have the option of meeting at their residence, studio, or our personal address. Clients out of the area will have a shipping fee based on costume type.
When is payment due/what type of payment is acceptable?
Payment is due to reserve the costume. If a new rental costume is being made, payment is due to begin material ordering and construction. We currently accept cash, check, and Venmo. If you need to set up a payment plan just reach out, we are more than happy to work with you.
